That brings up a good point, the last step notes that you may need to reformat if everything else fails.  To those of you that connect to PSN through the Vita, does it recognize your access to the cloud backup storage, and can you copy your Vita saves to it directly?  Or, do you need to connect the Vita to the PS3 and can you back them up to the cloud that way?

I haven't seen any cloud functionality yet (although it is apparently promised if you believe the PlayStation forums). It does recognize that I'm a plus member when I'm connected to PSN/SEN.
You are advised to back up your Vita to your PS3 on a regular basis though, and there's no mention if this is also sent to the cloud or not.

I would very much doubt it gets sent to the cloud as you could potentially have a 32GB card in your vita which is obviously a lot larger than the current cloud size. However, I've not seen any mention of game saves being separately sent to the cloud, at least not yet.

I noticed the way the Vita store is designed that now if you download a demo you can rate the game.

Now this became a problem for Ridge Racer since because the demo is just some crappy tech demo with no game play. the game itself is getting about 2 stars since ppl are understandably upset.

I'd love a racing game for the Vita but dunno if Ridge Racer is actually any good.

Well I picked up a Vita yesterday. What can I say, I'm rich. Impressions so far, in short I like it BUT I want to take it down just a few pegs to give people interested some critisisms just in case. Nothing is perfect.

First, Wifi edition comes with no memory stick. Again sony choose to go with a proprietary format I bought a 4 gig version and I'll see how that lasts me. Really this is my only serious complaint, the lack of memory card inclusion.

Wifi connection seems a little slow and i find I'm waiting to re-log into the psn from time to time, not hours or minutes of course but longer in comparison to other wifi devices in my house.

This is not a gripe just dispelling a myth, the Vita looks awesome, gameplay is super smooth, but it's no where near ps3 quality graphics. All games I've demoed look amazing and its about three times as powerful as the psp I'm just saying it's not ps3. Given the screen size it's gonna seem pretty darn close though especially with games like uncharted.

Vita is still pricey once you throw in a game and a memory card you're talking close to $350 Canadian, that being said if you're a person who must have the latest gadget thee's a good library of really good launch titles, so you wont be throwing your money out if you want to start playing now. Of course price drops will come for those who wait, just sayin.

I've tried no online or party chat yet so I don't know how this functions.

Google maps loads slow on wifi, you might as well use your phone

Facebook app looks great but I haven't found a way to look at groups.

I forgot my Netflix password so i don't know how that works yet.

Well that's about it for now, best hop on and get some more Unit 13 in (really like this one).

You'll have to look me up for some Unit 13 co-op Capt. I've been wanting to check it out for a while.

Don't forget to download Motorstorm RC for the Vita whilst it's still free! Yeah that would be my other addiction on the Vita LOL

Ya I pretty much dropped 400 bucks on the thing in the first week just to get me started. bought the starter kit, Uncharted, Unit 13, and Stardust plus a couple PSP games to play on it. ps I'm broke now.

I heard they plan on releasing larger mem sticks so I'll probably wait till they get bigger and cheaper before I upgrade that, but my 4 gig is pretty much full already.

I still dont know how the game goods thing works. I used to get trades from ya guys for Uncharted but not sure if I'm giving stuff out too, cause I cant seem to find an option to give out trades.

The constant logging into PSN does get tiresome, I understand its setup to shut down the wifi whenever possible to save battery life, but a powersave option would have been nicer as a choice.

That being said I'm looking forward to upcoming updates. especially hopefully adding PSPlus stuff!

I like the variation in mission types, I think it mixes it up nicely.

For some reason I'm addicted to playing the daily challenge at lunchtime everyday LOL

But does anybody really like the timed missions?  I'm not a big fan of them myself.  Never really liked having a clock over my shoulder.  Maybe because I have to play them like 10 times before I beat them.

I wonder with the issues of Zipper and Sony will we be getting Daily challenges or DLC ever for this game?

I definitely like the timed missions the least (my last one I played, I was down to the last second).

I hope the daily challenges continue, and this game is ripe for DLC that's for sure.

I'm praying the closure rumors (http://www.theverge....osed-sony-rumor) aren't true though - I like Zippers games.

I really hope the rumours arent true. Actually the last deciding factor to buy Unit 13 was when I found out it was a Zipper game or I wouldnt have bothered gtrabbing it.

I haven't seen a decent description of how this works either. The Near application just confuses me, I have no idea how any of it works. I am getting 'game goods' from people and I'm going to assume you get them from me too, but only Sony know how that works.

Well went to download that Motorstorm game and got notice that i was out of memory. I've had the system for a day at the time. I own Unit 13 downloaded Samurai Showdown and Ultimate Gouls and ghosts which I had on my psp and a few demos. Anyway, there's no way to uninstall stuff just off the Vita itself, you have to go through the content manager. No prob, and a bonus that it actually works with crappy mac computers but I notice there's 30 some odd gigs of internal memory on the system most of it free. I don't get it.

Still like my Vita and it's gonna come in really handy soon as i'll be on set till nearly october, long hours doing not much but loads of $$$$$$$.

The Vita works like an iphone, press on an icon till edit mode comes in, and all the icons will have a "..." icon to click on where you can delete games and apps.
