"GT5 had the pristine cars and the beautifully crafted tracks, subtly lit by soft sunsets. The toe-tapping pop would tickle your ears as your chosen vehicle glided round the circuit. In the menus, calming jazz put you at ease as you leisurely tuned your engine, took some photos, checked the online feed and jumped into perfectly realistic Nissan, thousands of calculations running behind the scenes to give true-to-life physics and handling. It was pretty awe-inspiring.

Shift 2 doesn’t do those things. You will sit in a stationary car, as the lights slowly blink to red, and when the moment comes to rev the engine and start the race, all hell will break loose. Your tubro-boosted supercar was carved by Zeus himself in the fires of Hades, with the chorus of a million screaming damned souls as your engine. The tracks are highways to hell, shredding the surrounding hills as harsh light stabs the cold, impregnable night, and the driver’s eyes dart from side to side, as if possessed. A collision is like two planets colliding, ear-splitting and lacerating fragile metal and flesh, as the crowd shriek for more. Everything is smeared in oil and dirt and grit and shit, everything is out to grab you by the throat and shake you senseless, and all you can hope for is to tame your beast of a car long enough to skid past the next devilish corner. This isn’t racing; this is staring death in the eyes and ripping its head off; it’s furious, roaring, polluted, thundering, vicious, paralyzing, invigorating and exhilarating."

I pretty much decided that I'll be buying this game as soon as they announced it.

I had so much fun with the first one, it's a no brainer :D

Saw some dodgy reviews but that's as fast as I've gone. Interested in the next F1 personally
