I'm not one to immediately pooh-pooh the out-on-a-limb hardware that Nintendo produces... I was fon board with the Wii when it was announced, as the motion control scheme sounded like a new and novel way to play games.

I just can't get behind this one. The controller looks ridiculous and impractical. Of course, the devs might make something special out of it, but right now I just don't see what.

I think Nintendo has had a lot of good ideas over the years but I am waiting to see what it is that this can do that my PS3 can't and if any of those things that it can do are things that I want to be able to do.

This Nintendo box probably won't be out till fall 2012 and may look completely different.

Who knows what the final product will look like....

I actually think the controller is somewhat interesting, it's just the market Nintendo aims for isn't in my time zone

I've had one since launch and I love it. The asymmetric gameplay of Nintendoland with friends and family is the best. I can't wait for bayonetta 2!

I wouldn't mind getting one, but I just can't justify it right now.  I bought the Wii the day it came out and only bought 5 games for it over-all.  I never even got around to picking up Skyward Sword for it, and it's the latest from my favorite series.  I'm afraid the Wii U will be the same.  I'm an old-school Nintendo fanboy, but I'm looking at this and wondering, do I really have a use for it, or will it end up collecting dust like the Wii?

Okay, so it can play current games in a way Nintendo systems haven't been able to do in a long time, but I already have a system that does that.  And (from what I can tell) the Wii U doesn't present a reasonable jump in power over the PS3 or 360 to warrant switching over.

My kids are playing it like crazy.  Their favourites right now are Super Mario Bros. Wii U and Just Dance 4.  It's pretty funny watching my 5 year old shake his booty to Rihanna.
