I'm enjoying it so far but I've not tried to get my head around the skill system yet I'm just running around shooting people and completing objectives. Lol which means I'm getting owned. It's fun though.
I'm currently trying to save some game play to my laptop so that when the nda is lifted I can bang it on youtube for people to have a look at.
Quick review:- its a bit like halo but with team play and a massively complicated skill tree that I've not looked at yet but it's a really good idea. Over the last month the graphics and game play have improved dramatically and with that support going on I think this could be a top game...... Especially as it's free. :-)

Dust 514 beta now up - runs nice, only 2 battle modes open right now but loadout is deep, market is there. can upgrade using in game currency earned by playing -
yeah right now i am getting my butt whooped - but i think the game has merit- just got myself wiped off the map from an orbital strike called in from an EVE ship- how cool is that?
so let's see how this turns out after the beta

I've dipped my toe into it once or twice, but for some reason this game just doesn't 'grab' me.

I haven't heard anything about it, don't really pay attention much either though. After playing the game for a few days now I'm starting to notice that the game seems to have a slight issue dealing with spawn camping. Its starting to get old spawning in the middle of a firefight and immediately dying.

I thought there was an option to choose your spawn location?

Only if there is a spawn beacon type thing, if there isn't then you have to go with the default location. The default seems to move around a bit, but I've still ended up spawning in front of bullets quite often.
Ah I see, well that sucks, hopefully they're paying enough attention to things like that. Spawn camping can kill a game in a heartbeat.

Been playing a bit more and the spawn camping issue doesn't seem as bad right now. It appears that if your current default spawn is being overwhelmed then the game will do its best to move it somewhere that is not directly involved in the action though it can still end up pretty close if it is a small map. I've found that the point capture mode of the game tends to be a lot more fun though as it combines a point capture with the respawn counters being depleted as you die. The whole goal is to capture points which then start shooting the other team's ship that is hovering about, which ever team manages to hold the points long enough to blow up the ship or the team that gets the opposing side down to 0 counters wins.
Now is there anyone that would be even remotely interested in starting a BPC group for this? I'm really enjoying it and would love to have some people to play with (you can make corporations like in Eve, and group up in squads).
